Rotational Power Calculator

Mechanical rotational power (P) is the product of applied torque (T) and rotational angular velocity (ω). Since mechanical work is torque multiplied by angular displacement (W = T × θ), power also represents the rate of doing work over time (P = W / t).

P = T × ω
  • P = mechanical power (kW, hp, W, PS)
  • T = shaft torque (N·m, kN·m, lbf·ft, lbf·in)
  • ω = rotational speed / angular velocity (RPM, rad/s, Hz)
  • W / t = work done per unit time (Joules/sec, Watts)

Inputs

Twisting moment transmitted along the axis of rotation.

Shaft speed in RPM, angular velocity in rad/s, or frequency in Hz.

Result

Enter values and press Calculate.
P = T × ω
